New York City Local SEO is for any business that wants to reach local customers in the city for their services. Since New York City is so densely populated, you only need to win within a few miles of your business to reach high-quality potential customers via local search results. However, being in the city, you can expect a lot of competition from competing companies trying to do the same, which is where TM Blast comes into play. In a matter of months, I’ve been able to flip the Google Map rankings for them around their Brooklyn location for their target keywords. The metric I care most about is SoLV, which represents the percentage of time a listing is on page one of Google for their target keyword phrase since Google only displays the first three map pack listings there.

Local SEO Services and Strategy Explained

At TM Blast, I focus on several different avenues to improve clients’ online visibility and drive more traffic to them, which in turn earns them more business. Below are the other areas I focus on, along with a brief description of each.

 

Google My Business:

Google My Business Rank in NYC
I’ll optimize your Google My Business account, the primary search engine optimization strategy I use for any local client. Optimizing the Google My Business account will help your business rank higher around your location for several different non-brand keywords in the map pack results.

 

For example, if you were a lawyer in NYC specializing in injury legal services, that would be one of the keywords I would focus on to improve the rankings for that. Having your business appear in the map results allows users to call you directly, which might be a KPI you focus on to get more clients each month.

 

Google My Business (GMB) with Local Falcon:

Local Falcon is my primary tool for tracking my clients’ progress. It gives me a bird’ s-eye view of how the rankings are improving in a given radius. Unlike relying on a traditional rank tracker tool, I will use Local Falcon to show you how you rank via a heat map.

 

Bing Places for Business:

Bing can account for 5-15% of your SEO traffic, so I built that into the local search package. At a minimum, I will sync the changes I make from Google My Business into Bing, but then I will take it further. One way I do this is by adding any categories that Bing has that Google does not, expanding the description, photos, and more.

 

Bing also has map pack results in its SERP when local keyword intent exists.

 

Apple Business Connect:

From my experience, Apple Business Connect tends to an excellent local directory listing but doesn’t drive much traffic or phone calls for clients who aren’t restaurants. Still, I will work on the Apple Business Connect profile to optimize it for Apple Maps search.

 

Traditional Website SEO:

Outside of optimizing for the maps, TM Blast also focuses on traditional website SEO to achieve higher organic rankings in the SERP. Every website needs different optimization methods, but below are some of the more common ways I optimize websites.

 

  • Content creation for service pages / updating existing pages
  • Adding new photos to pages that are optimized with ALT tags
  • Internal links throughout the site
  • Adding your Google My Business map onto the site
  • Calling out NAP (name, address, and phone number) signals throughout the site
  • Competitor research (content gaps/backlink gaps)
  • And more

 

Backlinks / Entities:

AT TM Blast, I don’t focus on the number of backlinks for clients, page authority, domain authority, or NOFOLLOW / DOFOLLOW links. Instead, I look for relevant directories that make sense to put your business on to help with NAP (name, address, phone number). If I can find relevant directories (paid or unpaid), I will pitch them to you so your side can get on them. As a note, the client pays for any paid listing.

 

Also, when it comes to backlinks or link building, I tend to refer to them as “entities” for two reasons. First, from a digital marketing perspective, backlinks should be considered as ways to promote your brand on other sites. Therefore, getting on additional listings is another way a user can find your service outside a traditional Google / Bing search.

 

Second, I focus on directories that have organic search traffic for the phrases you want to be found for. For example, if you are a general contractor in New York City, I would look for places to list your website that are on page one of Google or Bing for your phrases. Maybe there is a directory that ranks well for “best general contractors in Brooklyn,” which tells me it would be valuable to get your citation on there since this will be high-quality users seeing those results.

 

Cost

I charge $1.3k per month for NYC Local SEO. There is no long-term contract so that either party can cancel anytime. Too many services lock companies into long-term contracts, which is difficult since the price is high. Instead, it is my job to show you results and, more importantly, build trust so that I can be a long-term partner in growing your business.

How Quick Are the Results?

Typically, my Local SEO company achieves results for my clients by month three. Some see results faster, while others need about three months. Results will vary depending on your goals, but here are the things I focus on.
